There’s always something good growing in the fields and gardens of eastern North Carolina.
For those with a sweet tooth, available for purchase are homemade breads, cakes, cookies, fudge and pies. Or if jams and jellies are more to your liking, there’s a multitude of choices including hot pepper jelly. The New Bern Farmer’s Market also offers free-range poultry and eggs, seasonal colors of cut flowers, perennials, herbs and bedding plants.
BEYOND PRODUCE...
Although the main attraction is the produce and plants, there are also fine quality handmade crafts: quilted placemats and napkins, table runners, wooden benches and planters, soap, decorated flowerpots, silk flower arrangements and dried wreaths. And if sparkly things catch your interest, there are also jewelry vendors with glass beads, necklaces, and earrings. Have a clock that isn’t working correctly? There’s even a clock repair vendor that will restore your timepieces to ticking order. And of course you don’t want to miss “The Sock Man” and his variety of every day and whimsical socks.
BEYOND A MARKET
The Farmer’s Market is also available for rental to organizations, clubs, groups or individuals for parties, receptions and other special events. For more information, call 633-0043.
